The office of Novo Nordisk, a global pharmaceutical company, has been expanded with new functions aimed at supporting both daily operations and internal community life. The new wing includes an auditorium, a large meeting room, and essential support spaces — restrooms, a catering area, and a kitchen — enabling the office to accommodate both everyday use and larger-scale events.
The color palette of the new extension follows the brand guidelines defined in the company’s brand book, complemented by warmer, natural materials to create a more welcoming overall atmosphere. The flooring and wall finishes provide a restrained, monochromatic backdrop that highlights the more vibrant tones of the furniture, resulting in a balanced and harmonious spatial experience. Curved forms play a key role in the furniture design, contributing to a softer, more inviting atmosphere in both communal and work areas.
Flexibility was a primary consideration in the design of the auditorium. The space can be adapted to suit a variety of events, with a raised platform at the rear of the room and additional seating provided by cushions placed along the ledges, allowing for increased capacity during larger gatherings.
The catering area was also designed with flexibility in mind, making it suitable both for hosting formal standing receptions and for everyday office use.
In the design of the main meeting room, particular attention was given to achieving proper acoustic performance, as the space is enclosed on three sides by glass walls and openings. Acoustic cladding behind the TV, along with acoustic columns integrated into the space, ensures clear and uninterrupted communication by minimizing echo and sound reverberation.
The kitchen located at the end of the wing features a deliberately warmer color palette, consciously avoiding the use of blue tones. This creates a calmer, more relaxing atmosphere — an ideal setting for employees to step away from their daily tasks, recharge over a coffee, and return to work with renewed energy.
