McDonald's HQ iroda

Project Name: McDonald’s HQ Office
Our Role: Office interior design
Location: 1027 Budapest, Bem József utca 3.
Year: 2024
Status: Completed
Size: 950 m²

As one of the final milestones of its multi-year restaurant refurbishment program, McDonald’s Hungary relocated its headquarters office to a 950 m², innovative workplace at BEM Center — designed to reflect the brand’s identity. A key objective in selecting and shaping the new office was to create an environment where employees feel as if they are arriving at a second home. Through high-quality materials, creative design, and solutions that support flexible and comfortable working, the office elevates the overall workplace experience.

The modern workspace includes multiple meeting rooms, advanced technical equipment, phone booths, comfortable workstations, and, not least, an exclusive interior concept aligned with the McDonald’s brand.

Designed according to open office principles, the spaces are transparent and easy to navigate, supporting collaboration across departments. While individual teams have their own designated areas, workstations remain flexible and shareable, encouraging communication and interaction between different teams.

Innovation and experimentation are key to the company, which is why the office includes dedicated IT, operations (responsible for restaurant performance), and marketing labs. These spaces allow teams to test new solutions entering the system, including in-store interfaces, POS systems, displays, and mobile applications.

A separate training area ensures that even large groups — including external participants — can be accommodated without disrupting the day-to-day operation of the office. The two combinable training rooms can host more than 60 participants when opened into a single space.

The executive area is visually connected to the open office while remaining partially separated. This carefully considered layout creates a balance between transparency and exclusivity, emphasized through darker tones, wood surfaces, and a distinctive carpet. In addition, a custom lighting installation was designed around a prominent structural column within the executive zone.

The new headquarters office not only highlights McDonald’s commitment to innovative and adaptive design, but also demonstrates how a well-designed, inspiring environment can support creativity, collaboration, and employee well-being.
